On the Books & DVDs page I’m offering my favorite books on stranded knitting in general and Fair Isle knitting in particular. I’ve also gathered a number of books filled with charts, which you can use to design your own garments, along with several pattern collections.

Elizabeth Zimmermann has been a great influence on my knitting life. She used Shetland jumperweight yarn in several of her designs; I’ve stocked two of my favorite EZ books, Knitter’s Almanac and Knitting Around. EZ’s work is a library essential if you are interested in designing your own garments!

Finally, if you are unsure about knitting a Fair Isle garment, see the Meg Swansen’s Fair Isle Vest DVD for guidance.

On the Color Tools page you will find my favorite expanded color wheel, the Jamieson color card, and books on color theory.
