Shipping, Returns, & All That Stuff

I want my customers to be satisfied with every transaction.

What you can expect

My primary goals are to keep your order protected from the elements while reducing the amount of plastic that I use. Larger yarn orders and kits are packed in re-usable plastic kit bags (smaller kits are in recycled plastic bags), while other orders are packed in reused bags. Any padding I use is recycled. Sometimes my shipments don’t look pretty—but the yarn inside does!

Shipping & Handling Charges

Sadly, mailing is expensive! I am not attempting to profit from the shipping and handling charges; the charges below reflect the average actual cost of postage, stamp processing fees, shipping supplies, and money handling fees. As your order size increases, I cover more and more of the actual cost of shipping until you reach the free shipping level.

I use the US Postal Service for all shipments. If you prefer another shipping method, I will be happy to ship that way but I will have to charge you any difference in shipping cost.

Shipping & Handling Charges for Shipments to US Addresses

All orders ship for $5. This just covers the costs for smaller orders and offsets a bit of the actual cost for larger orders! I’ve reduced the cost of The Joy of Color to offset the shipping charge.

Canadian and International Orders

We’ll take this on a case by case basis! Please email me (janine AT feralknitter DOT com) and we’ll figure it out.

Tracking

You will receive a tracking number for your package.

Taxes

All shipments to addresses in California are subject to state sales tax, currently 9.50%.

Returns

I will accept returns of full kits that are in resalable condition up to three months after purchase. By resalable I mean that all ball bands are intact, there is no writing on the ball band, and the yarn is not stained or smelly. Postage is your responsibility. Please contact me before returning yarn.

All sales of books, however, are final.

Damaged Shipments

Please save all packaging, document when and how you received the package, and contact me right away. Your packages are shipped fully insured but only you can request the refund! We will work together to resolve the problem: I will send you a replacement, and you will send me whatever refund USPS has sent you.
