This marvelous long scarf is a masterful riot of color and pattern! Inspired by visions of the Shetland islands, the traditional patterns are coupled with 36 colors. In traditional style, however, only two colors are used on any one round.
This pattern is very adaptable: you can use up your stash, use patterns at the ends and solid stockinette in the middle, use soothing natural colors–whatever you desire. The pattern lists yarn requirements in yards so you can easily substitute.
The Walking Tour Scarf is an excellent beginner’s project, but the interesting and masterfully mixed colors make it rewarding for experienced knitters as well.
The Walking Tour Scarf pattern is available as a downloadable pdf from Ravelry. (You don’t have to be a member of Ravelry.) A yarn pack is available here.
